Franklin becomes first hurricane of 2017 season

MEXICO (WFLA) – Franklin has officially become the first hurricane of the 2017 Atlantic season, according to the National Hurricane Center.

A hurricane warning is in effect for the coast of Mexico from Puerto de Veracruz to Cabo Rojo.

The hurricane poses no threat to the Tampa Bay area.
