Sarasota Police sergeant captures gator wandering in yard

SARASOTA, Fla. (WFLA) – A Sarasota police sergeant captured a stolen alligator on Wednesday.

Sarasota police said a resident in the 3200 block of Tallywood Lane called 911 to report the alligator who had just wandered into his front yard.

Sergeant Bruce King has experiencing capturing alligators, as a former employee of the Florida Fish & Wildlife Commission.  He responded to the call.

The alligator had been recently been captured and had a taped snout and a tag from a trapper.

Police had the alligator had been inside a trailer that had recently been broken in to and the animal was stolen.

The alligator was loaded into Sgt. King’s vehicle with assistance and taken to the FWC.
