For all the years played and NFL records broken, the Hall of Fame career of Rondé did not get off to a memorable start. Barber was drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the third round of the 1997 NFL Draft and had set high expectations for himself.

The knock on the door came while Rondé Barber watched a soccer game on television with friends. It’s not unusual for the Barber family to receive guests at different times of the day, only this time, the guest was sporting a gold jacket from the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
