TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are parting ways with their backup quarterback, according to reports by NBC and ESPN.
Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reports that the Bucs will release Kyle Trask — a change sparked by Teddy Bridgewater’s arrival in Tampa.
Trask, a former second-round pick, is expected to be placed on injured reserve due to a shoulder injury. He made seven regular season appearances with the Bucs and completed 4 of 11 passes for 28 yards.
He will be released with an injury settlement, which will allow him to sign with another team.
According to NBC, the Raiders may take interest in Trask as they are in the market for a backup quarterback due to Aidan O’Connell’s injury.
