MIAMI, Fla. (WFLA) — The Department of Homeland Security denied the death of a Venezuelan influencer detained at “Alligator Alcatraz” on Wednesday.

According to NBC affiliate WTVJ, Luis Florida Florida manuel Rivas Velasquez, known as ‘Luis Frio,’ fainted at the facility and was taken to Kendall Hospital.

On Thursday, Rivas Velasquez’s sister and girlfriend demanded in a public post to their Instagram accounts that authorities provide proof that Luis was still alive.

WTVJ reported that a statement from attorneys for Velasquez confirmed he had returned from the hospital to ‘Alligator Alcatraz’ and was alive.

Authorities did not provide details about what happened.

The Medical Examiner’s Office in Miami-Dade and Collier told WTVJ they did not have any deceased with that name.
