ENGLEWOOD, Fla. (WFLA)— Englewood resident and former Rockford Peach, Sue Parsons Zipay, has passed away. She was 91, the All American Girls Professional Baseball League Players Association announced.
Sue was born in Massachusetts, but has lived in Florida since 1987 with her family.
“Sue established the American Girls Baseball organization, which has been providing an opportunity for girls and women a chance to play baseball,” AAGBL said in a post on Facebook.

According to the AAGPBL, Sue was a board member for the All American Girls Professional Baseball League Players Association, a chairman of the Recreation Commission in Marshfield, MA, and President of the Placida Harbour Condominium Association in Florida.
Sue has three children and six grandchildren, according to the AAGBL.
Sue played professional baseball for the “Rockford Peaches” after high school and had an appearance in the 1992 movie “A League Of Their Own.”
According to AAGPBL, Sue played for the Peaches in 1953 and 1954.
Sue was a pitcher, second baseman, outfielder, and third baseman for the Rockford Peaches.
