ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA) — You can enjoy nature and views of the St. Pete skyline at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve.
This gem is located about a 10-minute drive southwest of Downtown St. Pete.
“It’s really amazing to have this nature preserve in St. Pete because it is so urban,” Natural and Cultural Areas Florida Florida manager Taylor Thornton said. “It’s kind of like an oasis where people can go and get away from the city.”
Visitors can enjoy eight miles of nature trails with all types of wildlife, including gopher tortoises, alligators and birds.
Boyd Hill Nature Preserve is around Lake Maggiore and provides a view across the downtown skyline.
Tram tours are $5 per person on weekdays starting at 1 p.m. and $5 per person on weekends at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Campsites are available to rent at $30 per night and cabins are $40 per night.
Boyd Hill Nature Preserve is open Tuesday through Friday, and Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. On Saturday, they are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Admission is $3 for adults and $1.50 for children.
