Florida native Noah Lyles advances to semifinals after finishing 2nd in round 1 heat

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Gainesville native, Noah Lyles, finished second in the Men’s 100-meter, earning him a spot in the semifinals Sunday night.

The 27-year-old track and field athlete made it through to tomorrow’s semifinals, as he attempts to bring home four gold medals.

In round 1 of the Men’s 100m, Lyles completed his heat in 10.04 seconds, just .06 behind Great Britain’s Louie Hinchliffe.

The Floridian is currently the 100-meter and 200-meter world champion.
