TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Preseason means players fighting for a roster spot get a chance to impress coaches. Center Conor Geekie is one of those players who head coach Jon Cooper thinks highly of.
“He’s got big size and he’s developed,” said Cooper.
The 2022 11th overall pick is 6’4 and 205 pounds, which would add size and strength to the Lightning roster
“I’m going to fight for my spot and try and get one, but they know what’s best for this organization. That’s why they’ve been winning for so long,” said Geekie.
Geekie was traded to the Tampa Bay Lightning by the Utah Hockey Club with J.J. Moser and two draft picks for Mikhail Sergachev on June 29, 2024.
The Lightning have three more preseason games until opening night.
