TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Coach Javier Mascherano of the Inter Miami CF team has confirmed Lionel Messi will play against Orlando City Soccer Club.
The game will be on Feb. 14 at 7:30 p.m. on the Raymond James Stadium field. This will conclude their preseason tour before the official competitions begin next week.
“Since the moment this match was announced, there was a lot of doubt around whether Messi would play and we always remained confident that he would be taking the field,” said Ron Higgins, Executive Director of Tampa Bay Sports Commission, in a release.
Coach Mascherano said he will aim for all the Inter Miami’s players to get minutes on the field.
“Very few people get an opportunity to be in the stands to see the greatest player of all time in their sport play and its happening right here in our hometown this Friday,” said Higgins.
Fans can anticipate to see other players such as Sergio Busquets, Drake Callender, Pedro Gallese, Ivan Angulo, and Martin Ojeda.
Tickets are available on Ticketmaster starting as low as $49.
