TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The Tampa Bay Buccaneers took down the Miami Dolphins on Friday night at Raymond James Stadium in the team’s final preseason game.
QB Baker Mayfield started the game and went 3-3 with 54 yards on the opening drive, leading the team to a touchdown. Kyle Trask took over under center for the remainder of the game. Trask was 17-24 with 141 yards and two touchdowns.
It was the team’s only home game this preseason, and was the final chance for some of the young players to earn a spot on the team. The Bucs will have to narrow the roster down to 53 players by Tuesday.
For the Dolphins, Skylar Thompson played most of the game under center, throwing 19-27 for 190 yards, two touchdowns and an interception.
The Buccaneers will start the regular season on Sept. 8 at home against the Washington Commanders with a 4:25 p.m. kickoff.
