TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — There’s a new place to play pickleball where you don’t have to worry about weather or wait times.
The Tampa Pickleball Crew’s re-purposed, open-air space is on 2nd Avenue in the heart of Ybor City. The location features eight courts. Players can use an app to sign up for the beginner’s course ‘Pickleball 101’, events and playtime with others.
“It’s very predictable. I know I’m going to get healthly, fun, nice competition and I don’t have to worry about weather or finding a spot at a park. I can just know I’m playing pickleball on Tuesday night and I know where I’m going,” cofounder Kayla Goldman said.
A day pass for the new pickleball facility is $14, and an unlimited month membership is $139. Owners of the new facility hope to add another 30,000 square feet of courts by the end of 2024.
