POLL: What is the best moment from the Paris Olympics?

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — As we approach the end of the 2024 Olympics, we’re taking a look at some of the top moments from the Paris Games.

Olympian Brooke Bennett rounded up her top five best moments, specifically focusing on the performance itself.

5. Cole Hocker – Gold in Track & Field

Hocker won gold in the 1500m in a huge upset.

“What dominance and perseverance he showed,” Bennett said of Hocker.

4. Kristen Faulkner- Gold in Team Cycling

Faulkner won gold in individual cycling as well.

“She only picked up the sport of cycling three years ago,” Bennett said. “Anything you’re dreaming, Kristin Faulkner is telling you, you can accomplish anything.”

3. Amit Elor – Gold in Wrestling

Elor is wrestling’s youngest gold medalist at the age of 20.

“This is the original sport of the Olympic Games, the history of the Olympics,” Bennett said. “This is just the women shining.”

2. Sydney McLaughlin-Levorne – Gold, World Record in Track & Field

McLaughlin-Levorne lowered her own world record in the 400m hurdles, becoming the first-ever Florida man to compete in this event.

1. Bobby Finke – Gold, World Record in Swimming

Bennett believes Finke’s performance was the best of Paris. Finke broke a world record and defended his gold-medalist title in the 1500m freestyle.

“This was the race that was pure heart,” Bennett said of the Clearwater native.
