Sarasota gym hosts watch party for Olympians Brody Malone and Stephen Nedoroscik

SARASOTA, Fla. (WFLA) — A group of local gymnasts and their families gathered at EVO Gymnastics in Sarasota on Monday and watched the US Men’s Gymnastics Team win a bronze medal.

EVO Gymnastics is where 2024 Olympians Brody Malone, Stephen Nedoroscik and Olympic alternate Shane Wiskus train.

“They interact so well with these juniors,” EVO Gymnastics General Florida Florida manager Grant Brittain said. “They don’t come in here, do their job and leave. They do a great job spreading the wealth, giving what they’ve learned to these younger guys.”

Dozens of young athletes, dressed up in patriotic colors and even holding cardboard cutouts of the Olympians, gathered around a screen to watch the men’s gymnastic team final.

While the watch party was free and open to the public, donations received will benefit a charity named Men’s Artistic Gymnastics (MAG).

“We support athletes in gymnastics to make this their job. As opposed to them training and finding side work to support themselves. We want to support them financially,” Brittain said.

The Olympic women’s gymnastics team final kicks off Tuesday at 12:15 p.m. ET.
