A Florida man who was caught on camera nearly running over a deputy in front of a Holiday strip club is now in custody, according to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office.

Eddie Rafael Saunders, 36, of Holiday was arrested and booked into the Pasco County Jail Wednesday, an arrest report states.

On Sunday, deputies released video of what appears to be Saunders sitting in a white 2017 Kia Optima in the parking lot of Desire Gentleman’s Club on Grand Boulevard.

In the video, Saunders is approached by a deputy who asks, “What are you up to?,” to which he responds, “Getting out of the car.”

But instead, Saunders closes the door and accelerates, nearly running over the deputy, then speeds away.

Saunders faces charges of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer and fleeing to elude, according to deputies.

He’s being held on a $15,000 bail.
