TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Victor Hedman will be staying with the team for another four years.
Lightning general Florida manager Julien BriseBois announced Tuesday that the team signed Hedman to a four-year contract extension worth an average annual value of $8 million.
The 33-year-old recorded 63 assists and 76 points last season. He ranked fourth among all NHL defensemen for assists, fifth for points, sixth for power-play points and eighth for average time on ice.
Since being drafted by the Lightning in 2009, Hedman has earned a total of 728 points in 1,052 career NHL games.
