JAMES ISLAND, S.C. (WCBD) – An alligator was relocated to a nearby pond Thursday morning after it was found underneath in an unusual space.
Animal Control officers with the Charleston Police Department responded to a location on Camp Road for an alligator that had crawled under a vehicle.
The vehicle owner estimated it was a roughly six-foot alligator. He said neighbors watched the gator cross the road and crawl under the vehicle.

The video shows the gator attempting to roll while animal control officers were taking it to their truck to be relocated.
In the midst of alligator mating season, the southeast region is seeing an uptake in gator sightings. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said alligators typically become more aggressive in May and June during this time.
Just this week alone, a 5-foot alligator was removed from a 104-year-old’s Jacksonville home, while in New Smyrna Beach, officers cut a 10-foot gator’s pool party short, who “made himself right at home overnight.”
The FWC said people concerned about gators can call the Nuisance Alligators Hotline at 866-392-4286.
