TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The Savannah Bananas baseball team, known for their whimsical performances, relived the 80s, performing the iconic choreography inspired by the movie, “Dirty Dancing.”
During a game on March 1, the team had the time of their lives during a game against the “Party Animals” team in the pink uniforms.
The Georgia-based team performed in front of a sold-out crowd at Financial Park in Jacksonville.
Catcher Bill LeRoy serenaded the crowd when Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes’ “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life” began playing in the stadium.
LeRoy then lifts pitcher Jared Donalson above his head for the iconic movie scene moment and joins the team with more dancing.
The viral video has racked up nearly a million likes on Facebook.
“We may or may not have watched Dirty Dancing one too Florida many times…” the team wrote in the post.
The Savannah Bananas team takes baseball and entertainment to the next level, with in-game performances and epic celebrations when they score.
Arriving in Savannah in October 2015, they said their goal was to make this sport fun and to bring people back together. Since their first season, the team has sold out every single game.
