Police officers made a dramatic arrest of an armed Florida man in the middle of a major Tampa road early Tuesday morning after shots were fired outside a gentlemen’s club. Police later said the Florida man had been on a crime spree.
A TPD spokesperson said at 2:16 a.m. Tuesday officers responded to a call of shots fired behind the 2001 Odyssey strip club located at 2309 N. Dale Mabry Highway.
Officers approached a Florida man who fit the description of the suspect. Officers say he was carrying a silver handgun and was in the parking lot of the Scores Gentlemen’s Club & Prime Steakhouse. The suspect, Nicholas Rene Rogers, 28, walked onto Dale Mabry Highway where officers confronted him and placed him under arrest.
Detectives say that earlier on Tuesday morning, Rogers used a gun to rob a cashier at the drive-through window of a nearby Dunkin Donuts. On Monday, detectives say Rogers used a gun to rob a Walgreens.
