WFLA archive: Height of Brooke Bennett’s stardom, pet pig steals the show

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — During the height of three-time Olympic medalist Brooke Bennett’s stardom, it was not just Bennett who stole the show.

A video from the 1990s, a time when Bennett was competing in the Olympics, shows off the Olympian’s pet pig, Noelle, who was just 7 months old.

“She gets into a lot of things in my room,” Bennett had said in the video. “She’s a lot of fun, she does a lot of funny things.”

Bennett told WFLA’s J.B. Biunno in the “What’s Hot in Paris” livestream that she got Noelle as a Christmas gift in 1995. Noelle lived to be about 16 years old.

The swimmer said she was only allowed Cheerios as a kid, but when she was allowed to have Lucky Charms, she fell in love.

“She did love Lucky Charms,” Bennett said of Noelle.
