TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Florida Olympians are making a splash at the 2024 Summer Olympics, and none are making bigger waves than Sarasota swimmer Emma Weyant.
After trailing early, the reigning silver medalist swam back to finish first in the women’s 400m individual medley heats, beating fellow American Katie Grimes by just 0.97 seconds.
Weyant will be chasing the gold heading into the finals, which take place at 2:30 p.m. Monday.
