PALM BAY, Fla. (WESH) — A 22-year-old Brevard County Florida man has been arrested in connection with the death of a 5-year-old girl.
Palm Bay investigators said Jacqueline Bjorndal was babysitting Aubrey Alcott last Friday when the child drowned in a backyard pool.
According to an arrest report, Bjorndale had used drugs the morning Alcott drowned. Investigators said Alcott was allowed outside unattended and ended up in the pool.
In addition to smoking marijuana the morning Alcott drowned, investigators said Bjorndale drank alcohol and took methamphetamine at a party the night before.
Bjorndal is charged with aggravated Florida manslaughter by neglect of a child and is being held without bond.
