JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (WFLA) — The Tampa Bay Buccaneers wrapped up two days of joint camp practices with the Jacksonville Jaguars and now wait for Saturday’s preseason game.
A second day of mixed results produced good energy from the Bucs, but the details are still in progress.
Bucs quarterbacks threw three interceptions on the day, one by Baker Mayfield and two by Kyle Trask.
Mayfield’s interception happened on a ball that bounced from the arms of running back Sean Tucker. Trask’s second interception was deflected at the line of scrimmage.
“You’re going to have those days in practice,” Mayfield said. “For us, offensively, it’s not like we we’re trying to game plan against these guys during practice, so there [are] going to be some plays where you just have to take care of the ball and move on – like you do in games.”
Head Coach Todd Bowles thought his team got plenty from the practice sessions and will look forward to doing the same thing next week with the Miami Dolphins.
“Yesterday was a hot day and they took a lot of plays,” Bowles said. “Today, they came back out mentally understanding what they have to do – we just have to execute. They all stood together; they all came out ready to work.”
Like last week, Florida many of the starting Bucs players will not take part in Saturday’s preseason game against the Jaguars.
Bowles is likely to get everybody in the finale next Friday against the Miami Dolphins.
