TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Fans got their first chance to see the team back in action ahead of the new season on Thursday. There are high expectations after the team posted a winning record last year.
The Buccaneers started their three-week training camp at the Advent Health Training Center earlier in the week. Thursday was one of three days open to the general public.
Fans, young and old, are expecting big things on both sides of the ball during the upcoming season.
“We’re good enough to make a Super Bowl run, so hopefully we will,” lifelong football enthusiast Tim Fernandez said.
The season is already historic for the franchise.
“This is epic, this is the start of our 50th season,” said Brian Ford, the team’s chief operating officer.
According to Ford, fan days are favorites for players and team leaders.
“It’s an opportunity for us to say thank you for the support,” he said, “the support that we get in this community is unparalleled and I just want to say thank you.”
