TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The Bucs return with all 11 starters on offense and a few new additions, like first round pick Emeka Egbuka, who Baker Mayfield said he’s already impressed with.
“On a day like today, where Mike is not practicing, you can put Emeka anywhere, so it really is the truth. It’s fun to be able to have a guy like that who is that intelligent and doesn’t act like a rookie. His head is not spinning. He’s able to do it and handle it the right way,” Mayfield said.
Egbuka played football for Ohio State. He finished his career as the reception leader prior to being selected by the Buccaneers in the first round of the 2025 NFL draft.
“It raises the standard for everybody else,” Mayfield said. “You have a rookie coming in, learning the offense for the first time, it pushes everybody around him.”
